Over 12 years in the making, The Canadian Pop Music Encyclopedia was conceived by Canadian music biographer Jaimie Vernon through the original Toronto Sun website in September 1998. And since it's launch, Canadian music fans have demanded the resource in book form. Undestandably, a fragile publishing industry in Canada has been unwilling to take on such a massive project.
